BNP-Jamaat clash in Rajshahi leaves 5 injured
No written complaint has been filed so far
A clash between BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami activists in Bagha upazila of Rajshahi has resulted in five people being injured on both sides.
The incident occurred around noon today (20 March) in front of the Bausa Union Parishad in the upazila.
According to eyewitnesses, Jamaat-e-Islami had formed a human chain to protest against corruption, irregularities, and the misuse of VGD cards at Bausa union parishad. During the protest, BNP workers, led by Bausa union BNP president, arrived with a procession and got into a verbal dispute with Jamaat activists.

The situation escalated into a clash between the two groups, leaving five individuals injured. Two Jamaat activists, Abdur Rahman and Shamim, were hospitalised at Bagha Upazila Health Complex.
Maulana Majibur Rahman, amir of Bausa union Jamaat, said, "Our programme was not against any party. We were protesting against corruption and irregularities. BNP people unjustly attacked us."
Bausa union BNP president Rezaul Karim said, "Jamaat activists made provocative statements against us, and our people tried to stop them."
Bagha Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) AFM Asaduzzaman said, "Upon receiving the news, the police went to the scene. Tensions arose around the human chain, but we did not find any major altercations. No written complaint has been filed so far."
