Crowd led by 'SAD convener' breaks into Mirpur DOHS house looking for ex-AL MP
The crowd was led by Shekh Tarek Jamil Taj, who identified himself as the convener of Pallabi unit of Students Against Dscrimination (SAD)

A group of people identifying themselves as students stormed into a residential building at Mirpur DOHS in the capital last night (6 March), looking for a former independent member of parliament with ties to the Awami League.
The crowd was led by Sheikh Tarek Jamil Taj, who identified himself as the convener of the Pallabi unit of Students Against Discrimination (SAD).
At around 9pm, some 20-25 people entered the house searching for Abdul Motaleb, a former MP from Chattogram-15 (Satkania-Lohagara) constituency. He is also the president of Awami League's Satkania Upazila unit.
Upon getting a call through national emergency hotline 999, Pallabi Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Humayun Ahmed went to the building.
According to Humayun, the house belongs to a retired colonel of the Bangladesh Army.
"The students entered the house before I could go to the spot. I contacted my superiors as the students did not find anyone there and told them to leave based on the directions given by the Pallabi police officer-in-charge," Humayun said.
"I brought some of those people with me as I left the place. But several others, including Taj, remained at the house saying they had work to do," said the SI.
According to local sources, the group of youths had misbehaved with the owner of the building and leaders of Mirpur DOHS Parishad before forcefully entering and searching the house for Motaleb.
They remained at the house even after failing to find Motaleb there. Some of them were seen standing in front of the building while locals gathered later.
