Conquered Ganobhaban, will triumph in parliament too: Nahid
No election can be held without reforms, accountability for genocide, and the proclamation of the July Charter, he says

National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener Nahid Islam has declared that after symbolically conquering Ganobhaban on 5 August last year, their next goal is to achieve victory in the parliament.
"We have conquered Ganobhaban, and this time, we will conquer the Parliament House. In the upcoming elections, we will celebrate the unprecedented victory of the youth in the Parliament House," he said while speaking at a street march as part of NCP's ongoing programme 'Desh Gorte July Padayatra' (July Walkathon for Building the Nation) at Saheb Bazar Zeo Point of Rajshahi.
However, he emphasised that certain crucial issues must be addressed before any election.
"Before the elections, reforms must be resolved, trials must be resolved. We demand the trial of Hasina for acts of genocide. We want to see reforms and we want to see a new constitution," he added.
Nahid further asserted that "dictatorship and dynasticism must be ended from Bangladesh."
He criticised those who oppose the inclusion of the "July Charter" in the constitution or its legal recognition, labeling them as "new guardians of Mujibism" who seek to "facilitate the return of Mujibism."
He went on to say, "No election can be held without reforms, accountability for genocide, and the proclamation of the July Charter to build a new democratic and independent country."
He also warned that a long march from Rajshahi will be launched, if necessary, to protect the country's border and get fair share of river water.
NCP Senior Joint Convener Samanta Sharmin, Member Secretary Akhter Hossain, Chief Coordinator of the northern region Sarjis Alam, Chief Coordinator of the southern region Hasnat Abdullah, Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary and Senior Joint Convener Dr Tasnim Jara were present.
