Jamie Day was appointed by BFF with a view to finding out overseas-born footballers who will represent Bangladesh. While he has somewhat kept his end of the deal, he has confirmed that no overseas-born football will be called up for the next World Cup Qualifier.

"Right now, nobody has been called and nobody will be called. Many news outlets have reports of the national team handing out caps to overseas-born footballers but this is not true," said the national team Manager.

An isolation training camp will be started in August in Gazipur. 30 footballers are expected to be called up for the camp and Finnish born defender Tariq Kazi is said to be one of them.

"30 footballers will be called up for the camp and this number may increase. The list that we have sent to AFC contains the name of Bashundhara Kings defender Tariq Kazi," said assistant chairman Tabith Awal.

Though nobody will be called up for the upcoming camp, Jamie day has confirmed that he is keeping an eye on a young UK based footballer.
