Case filed over death of youth in Cox's Bazar Air Force base clash
A case has been filed over the death of Shihab Kabir Nahid who was killed in a clash between Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) members and locals in Cox's Bazar last week.
The deceased's father, Md Nasir Uddin, filed the case with Cox's Bazar sadar police station on Monday night, said the station's Officer-in-Charge Md Ilias Khan.
The case statement alleges that Nahid was killed by bullets fired by Air Force members.

Earlier on 24 February, 30-year-old Nahid was shot dead and at least six others were injured in the clash, according to police and local officials. At least three BAF members were also among the injured.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the BAF base in Cox's Bazar came under "sudden attack" by some unidentified people from the adjacent Samiti Para area.
The ISPR also said no live ammunition was used against civilians and BAF members only fired blank rounds to disperse the crowd.
Meanwhile, locals alleged that the clash stemmed from altercations over reported attempts by BAF to acquire land and relocate residents of Samiti Para under Cox's Bazar municipality for the expansion of the Cox's Bazar airport and the BAF base.
The casualties occurred when security forces opened fire, according to locals.
