Police detain model Misti Suvas from Dhanmondi

Police today (14 December) detained two women, including Bangamata Cultural Alliance leader and model Misti Suvas, from the capital's Dhanmondi.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Assistant Commissioner (Dhanmondi zone) Shah Mostafa Tariquzzaman said the duo was taken into custody this evening after a group of people blocked them in the Dhanmondi-32 area.

"Decision is yet to be made whether they would be released or arrested," he said.

However, DMP Deputy Commissioner (Ramna division) Masud Alam said the process of filing a case against the detainees is underway.

Misti Suvas first went viral on social media on 29 September after appearing at Dhaka University's TSC area with a cake to celebrate the birthday of ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina.
