We didn’t gain independence just to surrender to India now: Rizvi
Bangladesh did not gain independence from Pakistan in 1971 just so it could surrender to India now, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said today (11 December).
"We gained independence at the cost of blood. Would we sell this independence [over to India]?" he said during a rally in front of the Nayapaltan party headquarters prior to the long march to Agartala in India organised by three BNP associate bodies.
"Communal rulers of Delhi should remember that they helped shelter a terrible bloodthirsty 'Lady Pharaoh'."

He further said, "Today, Indian leaders are being criticised by democratic countries all over the world.
Though India itself is a democratic country, they do not want the people of Bangladesh to follow their footsteps, he said.
"The leaders of Delhi have not yet grasped the strength, resilience, and resistance of the people of Bangladesh."
Three BNP associate bodies — Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal, Swechchasebak Dal, and Chatra Dal — have started a long march towards Agartala in India, in protest against the recent attack on the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission there, for disrespecting the national flag and the conspiracy to incite communal riots.
