Eminem's mother dies at 69 after battling with lung cancer
Debbie Nelson, the mother of rap icon Eminem, has passed away following a battle with advanced lung cancer.
She died on Sunday night (1 December) in St Joseph, Missouri, as confirmed by Eminem's representative, Dennis Dennehy, reports TMZ.
Nelson's diagnosis was first disclosed in September, with reports indicating her condition was terminal.

Eminem's relationship with his mother has been a well-documented rollercoaster, marked by public disputes and eventual attempts at reconciliation.
During his early career, Eminem accused Nelson of neglect and abuse, detailing their troubled relationship in tracks like "Cleanin' Out My Closet." In 1999, Nelson sued her son for defamation, and in 2007, she released a memoir titled "My Son Marshall, My Son Eminem," further straining their bond.
Despite the rocky history, the two worked to mend their relationship in later years.
Eminem's 2013 song "Headlights" served as a turning point, with the rapper expressing regret for his harsh words and offering an apology. Their bond improved significantly, and Nelson publicly congratulated her son on his induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2022.
