3 die of measles-like symptoms in 24hrs, death toll rises 588
During the same period, 1,134 patients were admitted to hospitals nationwide with measles-like symptoms.
Three children died of measles-like symptoms between 8am yesterday (31 May) and 8am today (1 June), according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
With the latest fatalities the death toll reached 588.

Of these, 45 cases were laboratory-confirmed as measles.
So far this year, at least 90 children have died from confirmed measles infections in Bangladesh. In addition, 498 children have died with symptoms consistent with measles.
DGHS data shows that between 15 March and 1 June a total of 9,094 measles cases were confirmed through laboratory testing.
