Taskin and Jaker achieve career-best Test rankings

Taskin Ahmed and Jaker Ali Anik achieved career-high positions in the latest ICC Test rankings following their stellar performances in the first Test against the West Indies.

Taskin's fiery bowling spell, including his maiden five-wicket haul, and Jaker's gritty batting helped them make significant progress in the rankings.

Taskin climbed 16 places to secure 51st position in the bowling rankings after his career-best figures of 6 for 64 in the second innings. Meanwhile, Jaker, playing in just his second Test, moved up 24 places to 84th in the batting rankings after scoring a resilient 53 and 31 across the two innings.

Bangladesh suffered a 201-run defeat in the match, but there were other bright spots in the rankings update. Mehidy Hasan Miraz, the team's Test captain on this tour, climbed one place to 67th in the batting rankings and also moved up three spots to share third place with Shakib Al Hasan in the all-rounder rankings.

Among Bangladeshi players, Taijul Islam remains the highest-ranked bowler at 23rd, though he slipped five places, while Mushfiqur Rahim and Litton Das continue to lead the batting charts for Bangladesh, both ranked 32nd.
