Taskin, Tanzim shine as Bangladesh bowl out Sri Lanka for 243
Sri Lanka captain Charith Asalanka played a lone hand, scoring a composed 106 off 123 deliveries.

Taskin Ahmed's four-wicket haul, complemented by three wickets from Tanzim Hasan Sakib, helped Bangladesh dismiss Sri Lanka for 243 in 49.2 overs in the first ODI of the three-match series in Colombo today.
Sri Lanka captain Charith Asalanka played a lone hand, scoring a composed 106 off 123 deliveries. His valiant effort provided the hosts with a respectable total after an otherwise underwhelming batting display, having elected to bat first upon winning the toss.
Bangladesh skipper Mehidy Hasan Miraz faced a challenging situation when Mustafizur Rahman was forced to leave the field injured after bowling 41 overs, just four short of completing his full quota.
In response, debutant off-spinner Tanvir Islam — who had himself struggled with discomfort while bowling his eighth over — bravely completed his remaining two overs despite a limp. Part-time off-spinner Najmul Hossain Shanto also stepped up, delivering four overs to cover the gap.
However, the hosts, reduced to six wickets down by the 40th over, failed to capitalise on the weakened bowling attack. Wanindu Hasaranga could manage only 22 runs off 22 balls before falling to Taskin.
Tanvir and Shanto chipped in with a wicket apiece, while the innings concluded with a run-out, as Towhid Hridoy struck with a direct hit to dismiss Eshan Malinga for five.
