Potential for future revolution, which will more severely impact government officials, remains if the latter doesn't undergo significant reforms, Abdul Muyeed Chowdhury, head of the Public Administration Reform Commission, said today (26 November).
During a press briefing following a meeting with Rajshahi division and district officials, Chowdhury emphasised the importance of public service.
He stated that government officials are merely custodians of state power and should use it to serve the people, rather than wield it for personal gain.

He also acknowledged the growing public awareness and activism, urging officials to address public concerns promptly and effectively.
"Times have changed; citizens are more assertive now. If something goes wrong, they immediately respond, which was not the case before. We must guide people to act within the law while ensuring proper administrative measures," he said.
Addressing cadre discrimination, he said while it is not the commission's primary concern, it cannot be ignored.
"We are listening and discussing these issues, and we may provide recommendations to the government," he added.
