Global cotton production reached 121.95 million bales in marketing year 2025/26, up 2% from 119.53 million bales in the previous marketing year. Currently, top five countries make up around 80% of global cotton production, with China being the world's biggest producer.

Note: A bale is a standard unit of cotton weighing 480 pounds (about 218 kg)
