Jamuna Bank holds workshop on risk-based supervision
Jamuna Bank PLC organised a workshop on risk-based supervision (RBS) to discuss its implementation in the banking sector and the associated regulatory expectations.
The workshop, titled "RBS Implementation and Regulatory Expectations", was held on 12 September 2026 at the Jamuna Bank Training Academy in Dhaka, according to a press release inviting relevant bank officials.
Bangladesh Bank Director of the Supervisory Policy & Coordination Department (SPCD), Abdur Rab, and Joint Director Md Nurul Huda conducted the workshop.
They discussed the key elements of the RBS framework, practical considerations for effective implementation, and the regulatory expectations banks need to address.
Jamuna Bank Deputy Managing Director, Chief Risk Officer, and RBS Focal Point Md Shahidul Islam inaugurated the workshop as chief guest. Deputy Managing Director Mohammad Jahangir Alam attended as a special guest.
Head of Credit Risk Management Division Md Prashanta Samir, Head of Jamuna Bank Training Md Afzal Hossain, and Senior Assistant Vice President Sazia Afreen also addressed the participants.
Divisional heads and senior branch heads took part in deepening their understanding of the RBS framework and strengthening the bank's preparedness to meet regulatory requirements.
Other senior Jamuna Bank officials attended and shared views on implementing the framework effectively and maintaining sound regulatory practices.
