CopyKolorob: An evening with copywriting experts
There are only two types of copies: fluke and strategic. Sometimes a fluke wins it, but a copywriter must know everything about a product.

Amid all the hustle and bustle of the city, an evening at the aesthetic traditional restaurant 'Jatra Biroti' is always a pleasing experience. Like on many prior occasions, I walked into the ambiance to enjoy another refreshing evening. But this time, it was not a musical night or any cultural event. I was there to attend 'CopyKolorob,' an initiative for creative copywriting minds.
Mushfiqur Rahman, the creative director of Expressions Limited, arranged this homely discussion session with his team 'CopyShop'. Copywriters and creative minds from several advertising agencies had gathered together to discuss, share, but mostly to hear from one of Bangladesh's most veteran copywriters, Tanvir Hossain.
If you have seen Akash DTH's new commercial starring Mosharraf Hossain and Chanchal Chowdhury, then you are already familiar with the works of Sun Communication's Group Creative Director, Tanvir Hossain.

This celebrated figure in the advertising arena opened his vault of vast experiences and discussed insights and house stories of the advertising world.
So, what is this copywriting job?
There is always a creative mind behind every commercial or social advertisement. The person who writes these attention-grabbing scenes or cheesy catchphrases is a copywriter.
"At the end of the day, a copywriter is a storyteller. It's a thankless job," Tanvir remarked.
The two-hour-long session was very engaging. Rather than holding the mike in his own hands for the whole time, the speaker made the session interactive by allowing everyone to ask questions. Questions like "why does my boss drop my best ideas" spread laughter across the floor.

CopyKolorob had been a great opportunity to learn from veteran Tanvir Hossain for the fresh recruits in the advertising arena. With his witty narration and antic-filled gestures, Tanvir created a very lively environment in the Jatra Biroti ambiance.
Isn't that what a copywriter is supposed to do?
Tropa Majumdar of Expressions Limited, Head of Marketing Indraneel Chattopaddhay of Nagad, founder and chief creative officer Shafiq Alam of The Pod also participated in the program.
Hearing background stories of favorite commercials with a glass of mint lemonade in hand, I was taken back to the nostalgic lanes of the old days.
Yet again, an evening at Jatra Birohi had it all to call it a fine day.
