Just a few days before Christmas, Ed Sheeran dropped his new single - Afterglow, with just 1-day prior notice. And it has been quite a successful run for the song for his fans all around the world, makes us want more single projects from this musical maestro.

While announcing, Sheeran said - "It's not the first single from his next album, it's just a song I love, and hope you love too." And fans sure did not disappoint him in loving the song. People have been making covers of the song on TikTok and other platforms which has also been featured through Sheeran's official Instagram account.

After the No.6 Collaboration Project, Sheeran took some time from the social world, till Afterglow hit the deck. Afterglow sounds nothing like his last album. This solo reflects a beautiful connection between the singer-songwriter with the rhythmic guitar tune. This song splendidly portrays the essence of Sheeran's old self, the songs, the music, the lyrics of Ed Sheeran that we have fallen in love with in the very first place.

Afterglow displays a sweet melodious song with the inclusion of energetic pitches at the middle that made it sound amazing overall. The song, as many sources are claiming, is written about his wife. The lyric - "We were love drunk, waiting for a miracle, Tryna find ourselves in the winter snow" clearly shows the bond between him and his wife where the miracle represents her new-born daughter - Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran, born in September 2020.

All-inclusive, Afterglow is a song that has the power to calm you down in the strongest storm. It is a song for loved ones, to show them your ever-growing love that can outlast anything. It is a song about burning 'so bright 'til the darkness softly clears'.
