Bangladesh, Qatar to form energy, finance working groups
The two sides agreed to establish joint working groups to follow up on cooperation in the energy and financial sectors.
Bangladesh and Qatar today (18 August) agreed to establish joint working groups to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the energy and financial sectors following high-level talks in Doha.
The decision was reached during separate meetings between Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman and Qatar's Energy Minister Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi and Finance Minister Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, according to a press release.
The working groups will focus on advancing cooperation in the two key sectors and identifying opportunities for greater bilateral engagement.
Prime Minister's Adviser for Finance and Planning Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir, State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Aninda Islam Amit, Prime Minister's Foreign Affairs Adviser Humaiun Kobir and senior officials were present at the meetings.
The foreign minister invited both Qatari ministers to visit Bangladesh at a mutually convenient time. Khalilur Rahman is currently on a two-day official visit to Doha, leading a high-level Bangladesh delegation.
