BSFIC begins selling sugar for Ramadan
BSFIC is monitoring the price at the market so that consumers can purchase the sugar at the fixed price

The Bangladesh Sugar and Food Industries Corporation (BSFIC) has begun selling sugar to ensure quality and fair price of the product during the upcoming holy month of Ramadan.
The corporation has started free sale (unrestricted sale) of sugar from its 15 mills at Tk60,000 per tonne so that people can buy the product – a major essential commodity for Ramadan – at the government set price.
BSFIC, a corporation under the Ministry of Industries, has also allotted sugar for its listed dealers at the same price.
The corporation has also been supplying packaged sugar at Tk65 per kg to different super shops, including Agora, Swapna and Meena Bazar as per their demand.
At the same time, packaged sugar is available at the basement of the Chinishilpa Bhaban at Dilkusa in the capital, said an industries ministry's press release on Tuesday.
