Singer incurs loss of Tk65.94cr in H1

Singer Bangladesh posted that it incurred a loss of Tk65.94 crore in the first half of this year.
According to the company's un-audited financial statement, its loss per share stood at Tk6.61 in January-June period of 2025. In the previous year at the same time, it had posted a net profit of Tk23.59 crore and earnings per share of Tk2.37.
During the period, its revenue grew by 15% to Tk1,368.70 crore, but higher operating cost and interest expenses against loans pushed the company into loss.
The company said in its statement, selling price of the products could not be increased or adjusted to absorb the increased product's average cost, which led to a decrease in profit margin to remain competitive.
