Fatema Zahir Majumder elected chairman of Bay Leasing and Investment

Bay Leasing and Investment Limited has elected Fatema Zahir Majumder as the new chairman of its board of directors.
The decision was made at the company's 222nd board meeting on Tuesday (2 September), according to a press release.
At the beginning of the meeting, independent director Abul Kashem proposed her name for the post of chairman, which was unanimously approved by the board. She will serve in this role for the upcoming term.
Majumder has been closely associated with Bay Leasing for a long time, serving with distinction on both the board of directors and the audit committee.
Beyond her contributions to the company, she is also recognised as a leading woman entrepreneur, actively engaged with various organisations both at home and abroad.
After earning her bachelor's and master's degrees in English language and literature, she went on to study law.
Over the years, she has established herself as an active social worker and has taken leadership roles in several institutions, including Gulshan Ladies Club, Language Proficiency Center, Tiger Tours Ltd, and Blue Fly Academy, among others.
With nearly two decades of experience as a teacher of communicative English, Majumder continues to play an important role in the education sector.
She also serves as a trainer of English language instructors at the American Center in Dhaka.
Her appointment as chairman is expected to bring renewed leadership to Bay Leasing and Investment, combining her corporate governance experience with her longstanding involvement in social, educational, and entrepreneurial initiatives.
