Yamaha FZS hybrid launched in Bangladesh
Hybrid technology, long familiar in the car segment, is now entering Bangladesh's motorcycle market through the combined initiative of Yamaha and ACI Motors.
Continuing their role as pioneers in introducing advanced motorcycle technologies in the country, ACI Motors PLC, the sole distributor of Yamaha motorcycles in Bangladesh, officially launched the Yamaha FZS Hybrid on 16 January 2026 at Le Méridien, Dhaka.
The launch marks the introduction of hybrid technology in the domestic motorcycle segment, an area that has generated growing interest among motorcycle enthusiasts in recent years. Equipped with a hybrid engine combining fuel and battery power, the Yamaha FZS Hybrid offers improved mileage, quicker acceleration, and reduced carbon emissions compared to conventional motorcycles, making it a more environment-friendly option.
The motorcycle comes with a 4.2-inch TFT digital display and features including a gear indicator, turn-by-turn navigation, LED headlamp, tail lamp, and indicators, as well as a Smart Start & Stop System designed to automatically switch the engine on and off at traffic signals. It also includes Yamaha's Y-Connect Bluetooth technology for enhanced rider connectivity.
In terms of safety, the Yamaha FZS Hybrid is equipped with anti-lock braking system (ABS) and traction control system (TCS), features commonly associated with higher-end vehicles.
Initially, the model will be available in two colours—Cyan Metallic Grey and Racing Blue—across all authorised Yamaha showrooms in Bangladesh. At the initial stage, the motorcycle will be available through a pre-booking system.
The launch ceremony featured a musical performance by Bappa Mazumder of the band Dalchhut.
Subrata Ranjan Das, managing director of ACI Motors, attended the event, while Hiroshi Setogawa, director (sales) of Yamaha Motor India, joined the programme virtually. Senior officials from Yamaha and ACI Motors were also present at the ceremony.
