Bolivia declares state of emergency amid ongoing protests

The South American country of Bolivia has been at a standstill for six weeks due to anti-government protests. On June 20, President Rodrigo Paz declared a 90-day state of emergency in the country to bring the situation under control. In addition, the army, armed police and bulldozers have been deployed to remove roadblocks across the country.
