EBL honours women entrepreneurs for strong loan repayment record

Eastern Bank PLC honoured women entrepreneurs recognised by Bangladesh Bank for exemplary loan repayment under the Small Enterprise Refinance Scheme for Women Entrepreneurs at a ceremony in Dhaka, highlighting the bank's commitment to financial inclusion and women's economic leadership.

The ceremony celebrated women-led businesses and their growing contribution to Bangladesh's economic development. Through this initiative, Eastern Bank PLC reiterated its support for women entrepreneurs and financial inclusion nationwide.

Held at the bank's head office in Dhaka, the programme brought together entrepreneurs selected from among 53 recipients of the Bangladesh Bank incentive. Participants shared their entrepreneurial journeys, business growth, and the challenges they overcame in building sustainable enterprises.

Officials from Eastern Bank PLC commended the entrepreneurs for their resilience, dedication, and financial discipline. They noted that women-owned businesses are playing an increasingly significant role in driving growth, generating employment, and contributing to sustainable development. The event also provided a platform for engagement between entrepreneurs and officials from Eastern Bank PLC, emphasising the need for ongoing financial and institutional support and a more enabling ecosystem for women-led enterprises.th.
