UNICO hospitals launches comprehensive antenatal care package
Unico Hospitals PLC has launched a comprehensive antenatal care package to provide continuous, integrated services for expectant mothers from conception through to the postpartum period.
The package includes routine antenatal check-ups, structured educational sessions for couples, pregnancy and labour exercises, guidance on pain management during labour, postpartum care, and newborn care. It also places emphasis on partner and family involvement to support maternal mental and emotional well-being.
The programme was inaugurated by Professor Dr Farhana Dewan, Chairman of OGSB Hospital and IRCH, and immediate past President of the Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society of Bangladesh (OGSB).

The event was attended by Ardra Kurien, Chief Executive Officer of Unico Hospital; Brigadier General Dr Sharif Ahmed, Chief of Medical Services; consultants from the Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Neonatology, and Anaesthesiology departments; as well as expectant mothers and their spouses.
Unico Hospital stated that the initiative aims to promote natural childbirth, including vaginal birth after caesarean (VBAC), reduce unnecessary caesarean deliveries, and ensure respectful maternity care.
