UNDP reappoints Jaya Ahsan as Goodwill Ambassador

Jaya Ahsan has been reinstated as UNDP Goodwill Ambassador in Bangladesh for a third term.
As a Goodwill Ambassador, Jaya will primarily advocate for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focusing on poverty reduction, gender equality, climate action, and inclusive governance—specifically SDGs 1, 5, 13, and 16—to raise awareness and mobilise support on these priority issues.
Reflecting on her renewed role, Jaya said: "I'm privileged to continue with UNDP. With only five years left to achieve the SDGs, urgency is greater than ever. This is a shared responsibility, and I am committed to using every platform to inspire collective action for a better future."
Stefan Liller, UNDP Resident Representative in Bangladesh, said: "We are delighted to have Jaya Ahsan return as our Goodwill Ambassador. She is not only a celebrated artist but also a strong advocate for equity and sustainability. Her voice has brought the SDG message closer to citizens, and we look forward to building on this momentum."
Jaya will continue to support UNDP campaigns that empower communities, protect the environment, and promote resilience, advancing Bangladesh's progress toward the SDGs by 2030.
