Islami Bank board appoints acting Managing Director
Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC has named Md Altaf Hossain as acting Managing Director, following the resignation of Md Omar Faruk Khan.
The appointment was approved at a board meeting held virtually on Monday, 1 June 2026.
Md Khurshid Alam, Chairman, presided over the meeting.

Also present were Mohammad Khurshid Wahab, Chairman of the Executive Committee; Md Abdus Salam, FCA, FCS, Chairman of the Audit Committee; S M Abdul Hamid, FCA, Chairman of the Risk Management Committee; and Professor Dr M Masud Rahman, independent director.
At the meeting, the board accepted the resignation of Managing Director Md Omar Faruk Khan.
At the same time, Md Altaf Hossain was appointed acting Managing Director of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC.
