Trust Bank, PKSF sign credit guarantee agreement
Trust Bank PLC and Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) have signed a credit guarantee agreement under the Credit Enhancement Scheme (CES) to expand access to formal financial services for micro-entrepreneurs in underserved regions across the country.
The agreement was signed on 26 January 2026 in Dhaka by Ahsan Zaman Chowdhury, managing director and CEO of Trust Bank PLC, and Md Fazlul Kader, managing director of PKSF, in the presence of senior officials from both organisations.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Md Fazlul Kader said the initiative would simplify access to formal credit for grassroots micro-entrepreneurs and create new opportunities for business expansion.
Ahsan Zaman Chowdhury said the agreement would open new avenues for micro-entrepreneurs and contribute to inclusive economic development by strengthening access to institutional finance.
Launched in May 2025 with support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the country's first structured Credit Enhancement Scheme is designed to reduce credit risks for financial institutions while promoting productivity, financial inclusion and sustainable growth in the grassroots sector.
