Telenor group ceo makes first official visit to Bangladesh
Benedicte Schilbred Fasmer, President and Chief Executive Officer of Telenor Group, made her first official visit to Bangladesh this week, underscoring the company's commitment to the country and its people.
Her first stop was the marketplace, where she engaged directly with distributors, retailers, and customers, listening to their experiences, challenges, and aspirations. She emphasised that understanding customers' needs is central to Telenor's mission.
"Bangladesh is one of Telenor's most dynamic markets, and meeting the people we serve was my top priority," Benedicte said. "Engaging with customers and our Grameenphone colleagues provided me with real insight into how connectivity unlocks opportunities across society. I am inspired by the energy, innovation, and potential I have witnessed in Bangladesh."
Yasir Azman, Chief Executive Officer of Grameenphone, said: "We are honoured to welcome Benedicte to Bangladesh on her first visit as Group Chief Executive Officer. Her immediate connection with our customers and employees reflects the heart of our business—putting people first. Her discussions with the business community and encouragement to our team strengthen our resolve to lead Bangladesh's digital progress both responsibly and ambitiously."
During her visit, Benedicte met leaders of Bangladesh's business community and Grameenphone's enterprise customers, reaffirming Telenor's role in driving digital growth. She also toured the office, met employees, and addressed a town hall, outlining her vision for Telenor Group and Grameenphone in delivering the next wave of digital solutions to power Bangladesh's future.
