Standard Chartered Bank appoints new head of Corporate Coverage CIB

Standard Chartered Bangladesh has named Faria Kabir as the new Head of Corporate Coverage CIB, further increasing female representation in its senior leadership to over 30 percent as she joins the country's management team.
Faria brings over 26 years of experience in corporate banking, with roles spanning client coverage, relationship management, and origination. She began as a management trainee at American Express Bank in Bangladesh and, since joining Standard Chartered in 2005, has led several landmark transactions for the franchise.
In addition to her client-focused responsibilities, Faria is actively involved in advancing the bank's people agenda. She currently chairs the Complaint Committee in Bangladesh and plays a pivotal role in shaping workplace conduct and addressing issues of harassment. She also serves as a trustee on the board, which is responsible for managing the bank's retirement fund.

Faria holds an MBA from Monash University, as well as graduate and postgraduate degrees from the Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka. She is married with one daughter and enjoys gardening in her free time.
