ABB elects Mohammad Mamdudur Rashid as Vice Chairman, Sheikh Mohammad Maroof as Treasurer
The Association of Bankers, Bangladesh (ABB) has elected Mohammad Mamdudur Rashid, Managing Director and CEO of United Commercial Bank PLC, as Vice Chairman, and Sheikh Mohammad Maroof, Managing Director and CEO of Dhaka Bank PLC, as Treasurer.
The announcement was made at the 177th meeting of ABB's Board of Governors, held on 3 August 2025 under the chairmanship of Mashrur Arefin, ABB Chairman and Managing Director & CEO of City Bank PLC.
At the meeting, the Board of Governors unanimously resolved to expand its membership from seven to 17 by including the Managing Directors and CEOs of 10 additional banks, thereby forming a reconstituted board to strengthen representation and engagement within the country's banking sector.
