Standard Chartered Bangladesh appoints new chief financial officer

Standard Chartered Bangladesh has appointed Idrissa Kamara as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
With over three decades of experience in finance and enterprise leadership, Idrissa brings a wealth of expertise across diverse geographies. He began his journey with Standard Chartered in Sierra Leone in 2003, serving in various senior finance roles, including CFO.
In 2013, he was appointed Managing Director and CEO of Sierra Leone Commercial Bank—the largest bank in Sierra Leone—before rejoining Standard Chartered in 2015 as CEO for Sierra Leone. Most recently, he served as CEO of Standard Chartered Cameroon, where he played a key role in the Bank's transformation initiative, Project Crown.

Idrissa is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) under the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sierra Leone and holds an MBA from Oxford Brookes University. Outside of work, he enjoys reading, watching football, and managing his home aquarium.
