Southeast Bank signs MoU with North Bengal International University
Southeast Bank PLC has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with North Bengal International University, Rajshahi, at the bank's head office in Dhaka to introduce its Total Education Management Solution, "SoutheastEduFin".
The bank said the education management system (EMS) is designed to streamline tuition fee collection, strengthen school banking services, and build a modern payment ecosystem for educational institutions.
The MoU was exchanged between Md Khalid Mahmood Khan, Managing Director of Southeast Bank, and Dr M Sayedur Rahman, Vice-Chancellor of North Bengal International University.
Also present were Abidur Rahman Chowdhury and Md Mahbub Alam, Additional Managing Directors; and Mohammed Rashedul Amin, Md Masum Uddin Khan, and Md Sekander-E-Azam, Deputy Managing Directors of the bank, along with other officials from both organisations.
Under the agreement, the bank will provide financial services to the university, including SoutheastEduFin, which offers tuition fee processing, attendance monitoring, academic grading, payroll management, and communication channels connecting teachers, students, and parents, the bank said.
Students will be able to pay tuition fees through the bank's branches and sub-branches, internet banking, mobile apps, mobile financial services (MFS), and other integrated digital platforms.
The bank will also extend its school banking initiative, "Taroka", offering student savings accounts with minimal opening deposits, zero maintenance charges, and interest rates, the bank said, aimed at promoting financial awareness and saving habits.
Southeast Bank said the partnership aligns with its efforts to support young people, encourage financial literacy, and broaden access to banking services through inclusive solutions.
