Oman postpones meeting on new shipping route in Hormuz
Oman has postponed, at the last minute, a meeting between Iran and Gulf nations regarding a new shipping route in the Strait of Hormuz. The postponement is believed to stem from Bahrain's refusal to participate. Meanwhile, Iran has clarified that although an agreement was reached with Oman concerning the map and operation of the new route, this does not mean the Strait of Hormuz is being fully opened. This initiative has now been clouded by fresh uncertainty amidst the ongoing tensions between Iran and the United States.
