Southeast Bank launches 11 agent banking outlets

Southeast Bank PLC formally launched 11 Agent Banking outlets, branded as "Shagotom," to extend banking services to unbanked populations in rural and semi-urban areas across Bogura, Tangail, Gazipur, Rajbari, Faridpur, Satkhira, Khulna, and Feni. This initiative aims to promote financial inclusion by bringing modern banking facilities closer to every corner of the country.
The formal inauguration of the 11 Agent Banking outlets was conducted virtually by Abidur Rahman Chowdhury, Managing Director (Current Charge) of Southeast Bank PLC. Other bank officials and proprietors of the outlets also joined the ceremony online.
Southeast Bank's "Shagotom" Agent Banking offers a broad range of conventional and 'Tijarah' Islamic Banking services powered by modern technology. Customers at these outlets can open savings and current accounts, make cash deposits and withdrawals, transfer funds, and send cash through BEFTN and RTGS to any bank account. Additional services include receiving foreign remittances, processing cheque books, debit and credit cards, opening BO accounts, and conducting share transactions.
Furthermore, the outlets provide micro, medium, and agricultural loans, health insurance benefits, utility bill payments, loan instalments, government allowances, and regular customer loans. Internet banking is also available, ensuring comprehensive access to banking services. Customers can access essential banking functions 24/7 through Recycler ATMs located at the Agent Banking outlets, enhancing convenience and accessibility.
