Southeast Bank launches training programme for SME entrepreneurs

Southeast Bank PLC, in partnership with Bangladesh Bank, has launched a month-long Entrepreneurship Development Programme for SME entrepreneurs under the Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Programme (SICIP), a project of the Ministry of Finance.
The inaugural ceremony was held on 24 August 2025 at the bank's Training Institute and was presided over by Abidur Rahman Chowdhury, Managing Director (Current Charge) of Southeast Bank PLC. Md. Nazrul Islam, Programme Director and Additional Director of the SME and Special Programmes Department at Bangladesh Bank, attended as chief guest. Mohammad Wasim, Deputy Programme Director and Joint Director of the same department, was present as special guest. Senior officials of Southeast Bank also attended the ceremony.
The first batch of 25 SME entrepreneurs will receive hands-on training at the Training Institute in Motijheel, Dhaka. The sessions will cover business management, financial planning, digital marketing, loan proposal preparation, and other essential topics. Executives from leading organisations and experienced trainers are collaborating with Southeast Bank to deliver the month-long programme.
