Southeast bank arranges aml & cft training in narayanganj

Southeast Bank PLC recently organised a Lead Bank Training Programme on anti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism (AML & CFT) in Narayanganj, guided by the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU).
Officials from 53 scheduled banks in the district attended the event, which drew over 130 participants.
Mr Mostakur Rahman, Director of BFIU, attended as the Chief Guest, while Mr Mohammed Rashedul Amin, Deputy Managing Director of Southeast Bank, chaired the programme. Mr Khorshed Alam Chowdhury, CAMLCO of Southeast Bank, delivered the welcome address.
BFIU resource persons led four interactive training sessions. Among the presenters were Mr Rezwanur Rahman, Additional Director; Mr Hafizur Rahman Khan, Joint Director; and Mr ANM Kalim Uddin Hasan Tushar, Joint Director. These sessions addressed a broad range of AML & CFT topics, emphasizing compliance requirements, emerging risks, and practical strategies for strengthening monitoring mechanisms.
A quiz competition was held at the end of the sessions to encourage active participation. The programme ended with certificates for all participants and awards for quiz winners.
Southeast Bank officials emphasised that such training initiatives are vital for empowering banking professionals, reinforcing the industry's commitment to preventing financial crimes and promoting a safer financial environment.
