Shwapno offers free dates, sherbet to commuters during ramadan
Many people leave the office on time during Ramadan, only to become stuck in traffic and break their fast on the road.
To provide some relief, superstore chain Shwapno has launched an initiative to distribute free iftar items to people on the move.
Before and during iftar, Shwapno distributes dates and sherbet to pedestrians, commuters, and working people. The initiative will continue throughout Ramadan.
According to Shwapno, the effort aims to support those unable to reach home in time due to traffic congestion and other urban disruptions, as part of the company's corporate social responsibility.
The free service is offered daily from 44 Shwapno outlets in Dhaka and beyond, reaching approximately 1,600 people each day, the company said.
