Shwapno extends support to rescued child in Anwara
A recent incident involving the rescue of two children from a roadside in Anwara upazila drew nationwide attention after one of them, a two-year-old boy named Morshed, died whilst undergoing medical treatment.
Following media reports, Shwapno extended support as part of its corporate social responsibility by handing over a cheque for Tk100,000 to the Anwara upazila nirbahi officer, Tahmina Aktar, on Wednesday, 7 January 2026, to assist the surviving child.
The handover ceremony was attended by Md Mahadi Faisal, Deputy Director (Category, Growth and ESG) of Shwapno; Muhammad Tamim Khan, General Manager (Corporate Affairs); the rescued four-year-old girl, Ayesha Akter; and Tanim, the CNG auto-rickshaw driver who first found the children by the roadside.
The children were discovered on Sunday evening in Barkhain union's Mazargate area amid severe cold. According to their statements, a relative had abandoned them there and disappeared.
