Samsung marks two decades as global tv market leader
Samsung Electronics has led the global television market for twenty consecutive years, according to Omdia.
In 2025, Samsung captured 29.1% of the global television market revenue by investing in premium display technologies and developing next-generation products.
Reflecting this global leadership at the national level, Shahriar Bin Lutfor, Director and Head of Business, Consumer Electronics Division at Samsung Bangladesh, noted that the brand's global success was mirrored by its strong presence in the local market.
"Bangladeshi consumers have grown with Samsung over two decades—from their first flat-screen purchase to the premium displays they choose today. This long-standing relationship reflects how Samsung's innovations have shaped consumer preferences and expectations in Bangladesh by introducing new technologies and standards of quality," he added.
Samsung first achieved the top ranking in 2006 with its design-led Bordeaux TV. The company then introduced innovations—including LED in 2009, smart TVs in 2011, and design-centric models such as Serif and Frame. Subsequent launches of Micro RGB, Micro LED, Neo QLED 8K, OLED, QLED, and UHD have consistently advanced picture quality, design, and immersive viewing.
Building on this evolution, Samsung's 2025 range, including the F Series TVs, offers practical performance upgrades powered by Vision AI. The line-up enhances everyday viewing with AI Picture and upscaling, Adaptive Sound Pro with Dolby Atmos, and AI Customisation Mode for more personalised settings.
These new models also feature AI Energy Mode, Generative Wallpaper, Universal Gestures, glare-free displays, Knox security, and seamless SmartThings connectivity—all of which contribute to a more intelligent and user-friendly home entertainment experience.
Further cementing its leadership, Samsung TV is the first and only television Superbrand in Bangladesh, with the broadest retail coverage of any global brand in the country.
Looking ahead, Samsung maintains a presence across price categories and screen sizes, remaining one of the world's most recognised television manufacturers. The company intends to further expand its television portfolio and display technologies in the coming years, building on its established market leadership.
