Prime Bank hosts sme cluster financing awareness programme

Prime Bank PLC conducted an SME Cluster Financing Awareness Program at the Small Garments Cluster in Saidpur, Nilphamari, aiming to expand access to financial services for the region's dynamic SME garment sector.
The programme was attended by Nawshad Mustafa, Director of SMESPD, Bangladesh Bank, as the Chief Guest, and M Nazeem A Choudhury, Deputy Managing Director of Prime Bank, who presided over the event. This initiative is part of Prime Bank's broader strategy to empower Cottage, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (CMSMEs) by offering cluster-based financing solutions tailored to their specific needs.
Over 100 local entrepreneurs and members of the garment cluster participated in the interactive session, where they had the opportunity to engage with the Director of the Bangladesh Bank and the DMD of Prime Bank. Key discussions included financing needs, barriers to accessing formal financial services, and expectations from banks and regulators.
In his address, Nawshad Mustafa highlighted Bangladesh Bank's commitment to financial inclusion and credit accessibility for CMSMEs. He praised Prime Bank for bridging the gap between entrepreneurs and formal banking channels, which play a crucial role in regional economic development.
M Nazeem A Choudhury emphasised Prime Bank's dedication to CMSME financing, detailing the bank's cluster financing model, specialised products, and digital tools designed to ease access to finance for small and medium enterprises nationwide.
The session also included informative presentations on available financing schemes, documentation support, and capacity-building programs designed to enhance the bankability of CMSMEs. Prime Bank shared success stories from similar clusters across Bangladesh to inspire and motivate local entrepreneurs.
