PRAN dairy calls for joint efforts to ensure safe milk production

Raising awareness among farmers and strengthening cooperation among stakeholders are vital to ensuring safe milk production, speakers said at a seminar organised by PRAN Dairy on Wednesday at the Upazila Parishad auditorium in Gurudaspur, Natore.
The event, titled Safe Milk: Coordinated efforts of farmers and stakeholders, was attended by PRAN Dairy Chief Operating Officer Maksudur Rahman, Gurudaspur Upazila Nirbahi Officer Fahmida Afroz, Natore District Livestock Officer Dr Md Selim Uddin, Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection Assistant Director Nazmul Hasan, and Food Safety Officer Md Mofazzal Hossain, along with industry experts and over 100 dairy farmers.
Speakers noted that maintaining milk quality requires hygienic farm management, regular cattle health checks, proper storage after milking, and quality assurance through testing at collection centres. They stressed that alongside farmers, the Department of Livestock, milk marketing companies, and other stakeholders must take responsibility to ensure a safe supply.
Maksudur Rahman said: "Through our dairy hubs, we provide regular training and various forms of support to farmers. Milk quality is tested in four stages—from collection centres to final packaging. That is why consumers can place their trust in PRAN Dairy for safe milk without any worries."
