Prime Bank, DIU seminar promotes youth engagement in banking

Prime Bank PLC, in partnership with DIU and its Finance Club, hosted a seminar on "Financial Inclusion: Engaging & Inspiring Youth in Banking" under its PrimeAcademia initiative at the DIU campus.
The seminar drew over 200 students from various academic backgrounds, aiming to promote financial literacy, responsible money management, and career opportunities in the banking sector.
Shaila Abedin, SEVP & Head of Liability, Prime Bank, addressed the inaugural session, highlighting the bank's youth-focused interventions and the evolving role of young people in an AI-driven future. M M Mahbub Hasan, SVP & Head of Financial Inclusion & School Banking, delivered the keynote, emphasising the importance of financial literacy and youth empowerment for inclusive and sustainable growth.
From DIU, key representatives from the Career Development Centre, HR, and the Finance Club shared insights during the seminar.
A key highlight of the event was the launch of the Prime Youth Account – a student-focused banking solution available in both conventional and Islamic modes, designed to instil early financial responsibility. Students were also able to open accounts on the spot.
Speakers emphasised the importance of industry–academia collaboration, with both DIU and Prime Bank committing to strengthening partnerships through research, skill development, and student-focused initiatives.
As part of its PrimeAcademia initiative, Prime Bank offers comprehensive financial solutions for academic institutions, including institutional banking, digital fee collection systems, payroll services, school banking, and customised student accounts.
