IDLC approves 15% cash, 5% stock dividend
The 41st annual general meeting of IDLC Finance PLC was held through a digital platform today (14 May), in compliance with directives set by the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission.
In line with Bangladesh Bank directives, the board of directors proposed a 15% cash dividend, equivalent to Tk1.50 per share, and a 5% stock dividend for 2025, which were approved by IDLC shareholders at the AGM.
IDLC Finance PLC Chairman Kazi Mahmood Sattar, directors Akhtar Ahmed, chairman of the executive committee; Wasiful Hoq, chairman of the risk management committee; Kazi Mahbub Masud FCA; and Md Zakir Hossain were present at the meeting.
Independent directors Noor Un Nahar, chairperson of the audit committee, and Mohammad Mostafizur Rahman also attended the meeting.
IDLC Finance Managing Director and CEO M Jamal Uddin, Group Chief Financial Officer Masud Karim Majumder FCA, and Group Company Secretary Abul Fazal Mohamed Rubayat FCS FCMA CGMA FCPA were also present.
In their speeches, the chairman and the managing director and CEO welcomed the participating shareholders and thanked them for their continued support.
Kazi Mahmood Sattar said, "Our financial sector is going through a period where resilience alone is no longer sufficient. Institutions are being assessed on the quality of their predictive and preparative measures according to the market. In 2025, IDLC remained cautious with risk calibration and capital efficiency while continuing to invest in areas that strengthen long-term competitiveness."
"The dividend approved at this AGM reflects our capacity to maintain balance and stay confident in a changing operating environment," he added.
M Jamal Uddin said, "Over the past year, we have focused on improving the structural quality of our business by improving operational responsiveness and ensuring prudent portfolio management."
"The progress so far is encouraging because it positions IDLC to participate more meaningfully in the next phases, as valued stakeholders increasingly seek financial partners that can combine advisory capability and institutional reliability," he added.
