Praava Health announces leadership transition

Praava Health, a leading healthcare company in Bangladesh, has today announced that Mohammad Abdul Matin Emon has been appointed CEO of the business, taking over from Founder and CEO Sylvana Quader Sinha, who will become Chair of the Board.
Mr. Emon — currently serving as Chief Operating Officer — will step into the CEO role on April 16, 2025. Mr Emon has been at Praava Health since 2022, with an excellent track record as Chief Strategy & Product Officer and Chief Operating Officer, driving growth and fostering a patient-centric culture.
Ms Sinha founded Praava Health and grew it with a team of experts, world-class medical professionals and investors from a start-up into one of Bangladesh's fastest-growing healthcare brands, synonymous with trusted, quality care. Ms. Sinha's singular vision resulted in the opening of a new method of healthcare delivery in one of the world's most rapidly evolving economies. It sparked a new market for trusted consumer services. In less than a decade, Praava Health has become a household name in one of the world's largest cities, serving nearly a million patients nationwide. Globally, Praava Health is celebrated as a best-in-class model for improving health care for the billions of people rapidly entering the middle class across emerging markets. Now, the company is primed for growth and ready to build upon the vision of its founding CEO. Ms Sinha will continue to be closely involved with Praava as Chair of the Board.

Praava Founder and CEO Sylvana Q. Sinha said, "Leading Praava Health has been the honour of a lifetime, and my decision to transition comes with trust in the strength of our team, the clarity of our vision, and the continued momentum of our work. I set out to transform healthcare delivery in Bangladesh and kick off an era of trusted care. I have known Emon as a colleague and trusted advisor for a decade. He has brought Praava a fresh perspective while holding us accountable to our vision and values.
I look forward to partnering with Emon and the Board as we continue to set new benchmarks in patient care."
Mr. Emon is a seasoned leader with nearly thirty years of regional and local experience in healthcare and technology. He has held leadership roles at global brands such as BOC and The Linde Group, amongst other CEO appointments in tech and digital health businesses. His expertise in sales, customer service, strategy, and operations uniquely positions him to lead the company into its next chapter of growth and innovation.
Mr Emon said, "I am honoured to take on the CEO role at Praava Health and lead this incredible organisation into its next chapter of growth and innovation. Praava has set new standards in patient-centred healthcare, and my vision is further to strengthen its position as a pioneer and leader. Together with our dedicated team, we will continue to enhance accessibility, efficiency, and quality, ensuring that Praava continues to be synonymous with world-class healthcare that every patient can trust."
This next phase represents a natural and welcome progression for Praava Health. With Mr Emon at the helm as CEO and Ms Sinha continuing as a hands-on Board Chair, the future is auspicious for building on the company's legacy and further revolutionising healthcare delivery in Bangladesh and beyond.
And is the subject of case studies published by Harvard and Columbia Business Schools. In 2023, EY and Hogan Lovells named Praava one of 100 Meaningful Businesses combining profit and purpose to help achieve the UN Global Goals, and it won the 2024 Global Health Innovation award from the TEAM fund.
