Partnerships signed for Bangladesh travel and hospitality awards
An agreement signing ceremony was held on Wednesday to formalise partnerships for the Bangladesh Travel, Tourism and Hospitality Awards 2025 (BTTHA 2025), a platform recognising excellence in the country's travel, tourism and hospitality sectors.
The second edition of the awards, organised by The Bangladesh Monitor, will be held with Galaxy Group as lead sponsor and InterContinental Dhaka as hospitality partner.
The agreements were signed by Kazi Wahidul Alam, editor of The Bangladesh Monitor, on behalf of the organiser. Ahmed Yusuf Walid, managing director of Galaxy Group, signed the lead sponsorship agreement, while David O'Hanlon, general manager of InterContinental Dhaka, signed on behalf of the hospitality partner.
Speaking at the ceremony, Kazi Wahidul Alam said the collaboration with Galaxy Group and InterContinental Dhaka would help further strengthen the stature and reach of the awards and promote best practices in Bangladesh's travel and hospitality industry.
Ahmed Yusuf Walid said Galaxy Group was pleased to support an initiative that recognises innovation, service quality and sustainable growth in the tourism and hospitality sector. David O'Hanlon said InterContinental Dhaka remains committed to delivering world-class hospitality and supporting platforms that acknowledge industry excellence.
This year, awards will be presented in 25 institutional and individual categories. Only nominees who submit applications will be considered, with winners selected by a panel of judges representing various professional and social groups, based on expert evaluation and online public voting.
Two special awards – Most Tourist-Friendly Foreign Destination and Most Popular Tourist Spot in Bangladesh – will be decided solely through public voting.
Organisers said BTTHA 2025 aims to honour organisations and individuals contributing to the development of Bangladesh's tourism ecosystem. Following the inaugural edition, the second edition is expected to feature broader industry participation and greater international visibility.
