ICMAB honours 48 firms for corporate excellence
The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) honoured 48 listed and non-listed organisations across 17 categories for excellence in corporate practices, based on evaluations of both financial and non-financial performance indicators.
The organisations received Gold, Silver and Bronze awards at a gala ceremony held at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre (BCFCC) in Dhaka.
Adviser to the Ministry of Commerce Sk Bashir Uddin attended the event as chief guest and presented the awards. Special guests included Financial Reporting Council Chairman Md Sajjad Hossain Bhuiyan, Commerce Secretary Mahbubur Rahman, and Secretary of the Internal Resources Division and Chairman of the National Board of Revenue Md Abdur Rahman Khan, FCMA. Representatives from ministries, regulatory bodies, trade organisations and award-winning institutions were also present.
ICMAB President Mahtab Uddin Ahmed, FCMA, said the awards recognise excellence in corporate governance and performance, underscoring the importance of transparency, accountability and sustainable practices in Bangladesh's corporate sector.
Speaking as chief guest, Sk Bashir Uddin said the award recipients set benchmarks for corporate excellence through innovation, integrity and contributions to national development.
Gold awards were presented to organisations including Sonali Bank PLC, BRAC Bank PLC, Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC, IDLC Finance PLC, Reliance Insurance PLC, National Life Insurance PLC, Square Pharmaceuticals PLC, Premier Cement Mills PLC, Paramount Textile PLC, Marico Bangladesh Limited, Bangladesh Steels Re-Rolling Mills Limited, United Power Generation and Distribution Company Ltd., MJL Bangladesh PLC, Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC, BRAC, Olympic Industries PLC and Grameenphone Ltd.
Organisers said the ICMAB Best Corporate Award aims to encourage higher standards of governance, innovation and sustainable growth across the corporate community.
