NSU Young Economists’ Forum opens registration for EconProdigy 7.0
The Young Economists' Forum (YEF) at North South University (NSU) has launched EconProdigy 7.0, the country's largest policymaking competition for undergraduate students.
The flagship annual event invites participants from universities across Bangladesh to formulate innovative policy ideas that address current economic challenges and envision a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable future.
Now in its seventh edition, EconProdigy is open to undergraduate students from any academic background. The competition aims to nurture analytical thinking and policy innovation among young people, while demonstrating how their ideas can contribute to national progress.
This year's theme, "Equity – Inclusivity – Sustainability," highlights the importance of building a resilient and progressive economy that ensures opportunities for all.
The contest will feature three rounds. The first, "Beyond the Headlines", is a data-driven case study challenge requiring participants to craft evidence-based solutions. The second round, "Cross-Talk", will bring qualifying teams to the NSU campus for a dynamic debate session on contemporary economic issues.
The final round, "Policy Dialogue", will take place at a five-star venue in Dhaka, where the top teams will present their proposed policies before a distinguished panel of judges, followed by a Q&A session.
A total prize pool of Tk3.5 lakh has been announced—with the champion team receiving Tk1.5 lakh, the first runners-up Tk1.2 lakh, and the second runners-up Tk80,000. The winning team will also have the opportunity to publish an article in Equilibrium, NSU YEF's annual economics publication.
Through EconProdigy 7.0, NSU YEF continues its mission to promote policy literacy, youth engagement, and innovative economic thinking—empowering students to design solutions that can make a tangible difference for Bangladesh's future.
