Nippon Paint AYDA awards 2024: National winners and international finalists announced

Nippon Paint Bangladesh proudly presented Awards to the winners of the prestigious AYDA Awards 2024 competition in Bangladesh.
The ceremony, held at Amari Dhaka Hotel in the capital, recognised the exceptional talent and creativity of architecture and interior design students nationwide. Nippon Paint's AYDA program (since 2008) champions young designers, offering a platform for international recognition. Since its 2016 Bangladesh launch, participation has grown, with over hundred and fifty students competing this year.
MdMonsurunnabi from CUET (Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology) clinched the Gold Award in the Architecture category. At the same time, Nazifa Nawar Subha from BUET (Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology) secured the Silver Award. Mahdia Rahman (CUET) received the Gold Award in the Interior Design category, and Faria Ahmed (North South University) won the Silver Award.
The gold winners received certificates and Tk 50,000, while the Silver winners received certificates and Tk 25,000. The gold winners will represent Bangladesh at the international AYDA Awards in Tokyo. Two International AYDA winners (competing with 42 finalists representing 21 countries) will receive a fully funded three-week scholarship to the Harvard Design Discovery Summer Program (US$10,000 value), including flights, accommodation, and meals.
The award ceremony was graced by the presence of prominent figures in the architecture and design community, including Abu Sayeed M Ahmed (President, Institute of Architects Bangladesh - IAB), Bayejid M. Khondker (Founder, Nakshabid Architects), Dr. Md. Zakiul Islam (Professor of Architecture, BUET), Nandini Awal (Professor of Architecture, North South University), Tanya Karim and Nurur Rahman Khan (Partners, Tania Karim N R Khan & Associates), and Dr. S M Nazimuddin Payel (Associate Professor, Khulna University).
Rajesh Sircar, GM of Nippon Paint (Bangladesh) Private Limited, emphasised Nippon Paint's commitment to nurturing young talent and fostering innovation in the design field. "Nippon Paint, with its 144-year legacy, is the 4th largest paint manufacturer globally and Asia's leading colour solutions provider. The AYDA Awards 2024, under the theme 'Converge: Glocal Design Solutions,' aimed to inspire students to push their creative boundaries and strive for excellence," he stated.
Ms. Anika Ahsan announced the launch of the "Creative Colour Award 2025" for architecture and interior design professionals. Submissions are invited until March 31, 2025. The competition offers attractive prize money of up to US$5,000.
Robin Miah (Marketing Manager), Khalid Ahmed Siddiqui (Admin and HR Manager), Md. Kamal Hossain (Project Manager), and other senior officials from Nippon Paint (Bangladesh) Private Limited also attended the event.
