BRAC Bank installs ATMs at five MRT Line-6 stations
BRAC Bank has expanded its alternate banking footprint by installing ATMs at five stations of Dhaka's MRT Line-6, aiming to bring banking services closer to daily commuters.
The ATMs are now operational at Pallabi, Mirpur-10, Farmgate, Shahbagh and Bangladesh Secretariat stations.
Beyond cash withdrawals, the ATMs offer services including fund transfers, balance enquiries, cardless cash withdrawals and bKash cash-out facilities, providing round-the-clock access to banking services for commuters.
The initiative follows a strategic agreement between BRAC Bank and Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), the operator of MRT services, to establish ATM and CRM facilities across MRT Line-6.
The agreement was signed by Deputy Managing Director and Head of Alternate Banking Channels of BRAC Bank Nazmur Rahim and Managing Director of DMTCL Faruque Ahmed.
From DMTCL, Brig Gen (retd) Md Abdul Ohab NDC P Eng, project director, and Khondoker Ehteshamul Kabir, joint secretary and company secretary, were present. From BRAC Bank, Imtiaz Ahmed, head of alternate delivery channels, Nakib Zaman, regional head of distribution network, Khondker Emdadul Haq, head of government relations, and Sabina Sarmin, cluster manager, attended.
Commenting on the initiative, Nazmur Rahim said, "By integrating banking access into daily commute points, we aim to make financial services faster and more convenient for urban customers."
BRAC Bank currently operates 329 ATMs, 103 CRMs and 68 RCDMs across the country, the bank said.
