New Executive Chef joins Renaissance Dhaka

Behind every unforgettable meal stands a chef whose story is as rich as his recipes. Renaissance Dhaka Gulshan Hotel is proud to welcome one such visionary to its kitchen—Chef Aphithak Withojit, fondly known as Chef Mac, as the new Executive Chef.
With a culinary journey spanning over four decades, Chef Mac has honed his craft across the globe—from luxury resorts in Thailand to celebrated hotels in the Middle East. Most recently, he led the kitchens at W Doha Hotel, bringing his global expertise to an international clientele. His illustrious career includes key roles at Anantara Hotels, Burj Dubai, and working alongside Michelin-starred Chef Nobu at the iconic Nobu restaurants. He also served as Executive Chef and Brand Ambassador for Spice Market by Jean-Georges—a concept developed by the renowned three-Michelin-starred chef—during his tenure in Doha.
Chef Mac's talents have been sought after for exclusive assignments, including confidential hospitality appointments for the Royal Family in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and later in South Africa, where he collaborated with other Michelin-starred chefs. A master in managing large-scale kitchen operations, he is widely respected for training culinary teams to international standards of excellence.
Yet beyond the accolades, Chef Mac is a firm believer that food should narrate a story—a tale of place, people, and emotion. He brings to Dhaka a profound love for Asian flavours, a passion for thoughtful presentation, and a reverence for ingredients shaped by years of experience.
Originally from Thailand, Chef Mac is known for his calm demeanour and sharp precision. He speaks English, Thai, Laotian, and conversational Japanese. When not in the kitchen, he can often be found hiking through scenic trails or cycling to clear his mind.
